Folha Flower Care

Care Instructions for Fresh Cut Flowers

To properly care for fresh cut flowers, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare the vase by filling a clean container with fresh lukewarm water. Avoid using soft water.
  2. Trim the stems by cutting them at an angle with sharp scissors or a knife to improve water absorption. Recut the stems every few days.
  3. If your flowers arrived already in a vase, just follow these next few steps
  4. Keep an eye on the water level, topping it up daily with fresh water and completely changing it every two to three days.
  5. Keep flowers in a cool, shaded spot away from direct sunlight, heat sources, drafts, and vents. Cooler temperatures slow down wilting and aging.
  6. Remove wilted or dead blooms and foliage promptly to prevent decay from spreading and maintain the bouquet’s appearance.

By combining these practices, you can significantly extend the life and beauty of your cut flowers.

Care Instructions for Orchids

To properly care for orchids, follow these steps:

  1. Light: Place your orchid in bright, indirect light—avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn
  2. Watering: only every 10 days or when the exposed roots look silvery. Mini orchids require 1/8 of a cup while the regular size orchids need ¼ of a cup.  Do not exceed watering more than every 10 days
  3. Blooming: To encourage new growth, cut the old stem about 1 inch below the middle of the plant and move it to a spot with more direct sunlight. Once the orchid starts blooming again, return it to indirect light.

Care Instructions for Tropical Plants

To properly care for tropical plants, follow these steps:

  1. Light: Most tropical plants thrive in bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid placing them in direct sun to prevent leaf burn. A spot near an east-facing window or filtered light works well.
  2. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water your plant when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch, which is typically about once a week.

This balance helps tropical plants stay healthy without risking overwatering or sun damage.

Care Instructions for Succulents

To properly care for succulents, follow these steps:

  1. Watering:  Water your succulents only when the soil is fully dry. During summer, give about 1/4 cup of water once a week. In spring and fall, water with 1/2 cup twice a month. In winter, reduce watering to 3/4 cup once a month.
  2. Lighting: Most succulents thrive in bright, direct sunlight. However, some varieties prefer indirect light to avoid leaf burn.
